Introducing Classical Music Through Stories
I trained at the Royal College of Music (G.R.S.M. A.R.C.M. L.D.S) then taught KS1 and KS2 music full time for nine years as well as writing and producing plays for these age groups and teaching piano pupils.
I had my children at this time and started writing for various B.B.C. Schools Radio programmes, including Something to Think About, Playtime, Let's Make a Story and Dance Workshop. I then resumed part time teaching, specialising in Key Stage 1 and Foundation music and drama. I also wrote the theme and incidental music for a series of thirteen pre-school children's programmes on B.B.C. T.V. - Tales of Aesop. I currently teach music and drama three mornings a week as well as having a few piano pupils. The rest of my time is spent writing children's fiction and educational music materials, giving 'author' talks and music teaching workshops and demos. Please find more information about this in School Visits/Music Workshops.
When I'm not writing, I love reading, cycling, walking, swimming, music, eating and drinking and playing games with family and friends, theatre, cinema, teaching, exploring.
